Accessibility Statement

Conformance target

BenchPath targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We say “target” deliberately: conformance is verified through manual auditing of the patterns below on each release, not a one-time certification, and the known limitations section is kept honest rather than empty.

Measures in place

• Semantic landmarks on every page: a skip-to-content link, a single <main>, labelled navigation regions.
• Full keyboard operability, including the command palette (combobox/listbox pattern with arrow-key navigation) and every filter, toggle, and wizard control.
• Auto-advancing content — the homepage dossier rotation — pauses on hover, on keyboard focus, via an explicit pause control, and is disabled entirely when the OS reports prefers-reduced-motion.
• Color is never the only carrier of meaning: confidence grades, health states, and verdicts always pair color with text labels.
• Brand contrast pairs are chosen against WCAG AA ratios for normal text, in both the dark and light themes.
• Form controls are labelled — visible labels on wizards and calculators, ARIA labels on icon-only controls such as sliders and pagination dots.
• Notifications are announced to assistive technology via a polite live region; filtering interfaces use aria-pressed state chips.
• Focus is visible: interactive elements carry a focus ring rather than relying on browser defaults being left intact.

Known limitations

• The Florida coverage map communicates county status visually; the same status is available in the adjacent county table, but the map itself is not yet keyboard-navigable.
• Judge portrait photographs come from official court websites; a small number are low resolution at the source.
• Third-party content reached through source links (court websites, PDF orders) is outside our control and varies widely in accessibility.
