The trigger day never counts. Under Rule 2.514(a)(1)(A), the day of the event that starts the clock — service, filing, an order — is excluded. Counting begins the next day.
Business days vs. calendar days. Business days skip Saturdays, Sundays, and registered court holidays. Calendar days count every day — but if the last day falls on a weekend or holiday, the deadline rolls forward to the next business day (2.514(a)(1)(C)). For deadlines counted backward from a hearing or trial, the roll goes the other way, to the preceding business day.
Holidays are jurisdiction-specific. No court-holiday calendar is registered for this jurisdiction yet, so only weekends are excluded. Verify the court's holiday schedule with the clerk before relying on a computed date.
