Judge — Fifth District Court of Appeal
Judge Eric J. Eisnaugle was appointed to the court in 2017 by Governor Rick Scott to fill a vacancy created by the elevation of now Justice C. Alan Lawson. He currently serves on the District Court of Appeal Conference Education Committee and previously served on the board of the Orange County Bar Association Foundation.
Prior to joining the court, Judge Eisnaugle served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2008 through 2012, and again from 2014 until his appointment. While in the Florida House, he served as Chairman of the Civil Justice Subcommittee and as Vice Chairman of the Rules and Calendar Committee. He also served as a member of numerous other committees including the Judiciary Committee and the Judicial Appropriations Subcommittee.
While in private practice, Judge Eisnaugle received an AV Preeminent rating on Martindale Hubbell while litigating a wide variety of commercial matters in Florida’s trial courts, and handling commercial and liability cases before Florida’s appellate courts.
Judge Eisnaugle graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2003 with honors as a member of the Order of the Coif. During law school, he served on the board of the Journal of Transnational Law and as a member of Vanderbilt’s National Moot Court Team. He graduated summa cum laude from Florida Southern College in 2000 where he majored in Business Administration and Economics.
