Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Judge Joshua E. Pratt to the Sixth District Court of Appeal on November 7, 2025.
Before his appointment, Judge Pratt served as an Administrative Law Judge at the Division of Administrative Hearings. Before joining DOAH as an ALJ, Judge Pratt worked as a senior associate and then as an of counsel attorney at Holtzman Vogel. Before that, he served as an assistant general counsel and then as a deputy general counsel in the Executive Office of the Governor.
Judge Pratt received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University and his law degree from the Florida State University College of Law. In law school, he was a president of the school’s Christian Legal Society chapter, a treasurer of the school’s Federalist Society chapter, and a member of the school’s moot court team.
After his graduation from law school, Judge Pratt served as a staff attorney to the Honorable Charles T. Canady of the Florida Supreme Court. He then served as a law clerk to the Honorable Sidney A. Fitzwater and the Honorable Lee Ann Reno of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
