Mina, Deputy SUPERIOR COURT OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES ORDER REGARDING FILING OF LIMITED UNLAWFUL DETAINER ACTIONS GENERAL ORDER California Code of Civil Procedure section 392 (b) mandates that the proper court location for trial of a proceeding for an unlawful detainer, as defined in Section 1161, is the location where the court tries that type of proceeding that is nearest or most accessible to where the real property that is the subject of the action, or some part thereof, is situated. Local Rule 2.3(a)(2)(A) details where certain actions, including limited unlawful detainers, must be filed, and identifies Appendix 2.D to the local rules as the source of guidance for filing locations by zip code. To ensure compliance with California Code of Civil Procedure §392(b), the table attached to this General Order as Exhibit 1 updates Appendix 2.D to the local rules with the proper courthouse for filing limited unlawful detainer actions in the referenced zip codes and locations. This General Order supersedes Appendix 2.D of the Local Rules only as to the courthouse filing locations listed in the attached table at Exhibit 1. IT IS SO ORDERED.
