Unlock free →Motions shall be by written motion and shall be filed, whether in person or by e-file, with the Clerk of Courts in advance of any upcoming hearing. Absent good cause, if same are intended to be addressed at the initial fifteen (15) day return hearing, any said Motion must be filed at least seventy two (72) hours in advance of said hearing, or within twenty four (24) hours of having been retained, whichever is later, and a courtesy copy of said Motion must be emailed to the other party and to Div45@17th.flcourts.org with a cover letter and notification in the subject line of the email that same is intended for a certain hearing date. Said hearing date shall be listed. If this procedure is not followed, the Court will not consider a dispositive motion at the initial fifteen (15) day return hearing.

Judge Dearing wants courtesy copies of motions and memoranda three days before hearing; anything over 20 pages including attachments is barred from email and must arrive by hand, U.S. Mail, or delivery service.
For motions, memoranda, or case law of 20 pages or more, Judge Wallace requires hard copies inside the Courthouse three to five business days before the hearing — by mail, FedEx, UPS, or hand delivery.
Judge Goodman does not participate in E-Courtesy. Hearing materials over 10 pages must arrive by U.S. mail or courier five days in advance; under 10 pages email is acceptable.
