Only sentences containing mandatory language (shall, must, may not, no later than, within N) are reproduced — the full document is in custody and is the controlling text. • CRIMINAL - MISDEMEANOR PROBATION SERVICES IN SEMINOLE COUNTY _____________________________________________________________________________________ WHEREAS, pursuant to Article V, section 2(d) of the Florida Constitution and section 43.26, Florida Statutes, the chief judge of each judicial circuit is charged with the authority and the power to do everything necessary to promote the prompt and efficient administration of justice; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the chief judge's constitutional and statutory responsibility for administrative supervision of the courts within the circuit and to create and maintain an organization capable of effecting the efficient, prompt, and proper administration of justice for the citizens of this State, the chief judge is required to exercise direction, see Fla. • WHEREAS, pursuant to Florida Statute 948.09 person's placed on misdemeanor probation by a county court judge must contribute not less than $40.00 per month, as decided by the sentencing court, to the Court approved public or private entity providing misdemeanor supervision. -- 1 of 2 -- 2 WHEREAS, the costs of supervision assessed for County Court supervision, have been set at no less than $60.00 as evidenced in a memorandum dated July 8, 2008. • Persons currently being supervised by Seminole County Department of Public Safety Probation Division shall be under the supervision of the Sheriff beginning July 1, 2016. 3. • Persons ordered to supervision to be supervised at the county level beginning on or after July 1, 2016 shall be ordered to supervision by the Sheriff. 4. • County Court monthly supervision costs shall be assessed at no less than $60.00. 5. • Any fees, costs, restitution payments or special assessments currently in effect or collected as a function or part of Probation when under the supervision of the County shall continue to be in effect, collected and assessed by the SHERIFF. 6.
