HEARING TIME & ARGUMENT LIMITS • IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF THE NINETEENTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT IN AND FOR INDIAN RIVER, MARTIN, OKEECHOBEE, AND ST. LUCIE COUNTIES STATE OF FLORIDA ADM INISTRATIVE ORDER 2023-07 (Superseding Administrative Order 2011-02) RE : GUARDIANSHIP EDUCATION W HEREAS, Section 744.3145 (4), Florida Statutes requires the Chief Judge of a Circuit Court to approve educational courses for non- professional guardians for persons who wish to be guardians of a ward’s property; and W HEREAS, Indian River State College has developed a guardianship works hop that meets the instruction and training requirements for non-professional guardians; NO W, THEREFORE, pursuant to the authority of the Chief Judge of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida under section 43.26, Florida Statutes, and Florida Rule of General Practice and Judicial Administration 2.215, effective immediately, it is hereby O RDERED as follows: I. G eneral Provisions 1. I ndian River State College is a court -approved organization in The Nineteenth Judicial Circuit for purposes of section 744.3145 (4), Florida Statutes. 2. T he four and eight hour “ Guardianship Training Workshops ” developed by Indian River State College are approved guardian education courses for guardians appointed in the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit, and are now being offered exclusively online at: https://www.guardianshipeducation.com. Any person appointed by the court as a guardian, must file proof of completing this online course with the Clerk of Court within (4) months of appointment. II. P revious Administrative Order Superseded This Administrative Order replaces Administrative Order 2011-02 and shall remain in full force and effect until further order of the Chief Judge.
