ORDER The 446th Judicial District Court of Ector County, Texas has been created by enactment of the 84th Texas Legislative Session. This Court’s jurisdiction becomes effective September 1, 2015. See Section 24.590, Tex. Gov’t Code. To promote the effective management and disposition of the cases currently pending and to be subsequently filed in the Courts of Ector County, Texas, and pursuant to the statutory discretion granted to the existing District Courts of Ector County, Texas, IT IS ORDERED that: 1. The 446th Judicial District Court of Ector County, Texas shall exercise jurisdiction of and give preference to family law matters. 2. The 446th Judicial District Court of Ector County, Texas shall also exercise jurisdiction of any civil or criminal matters assigned or transferred to it by the other District Courts of Ector County, Texas. See Sections 24.003, 24.022, & 74.093, Tex. Gov’t Code. The District Courts of Ector County, Texas will formulate an appropriate strategy and method to effectuate the intent of the 446th Judicial District Court’s designation. IT IS SO ORDERED.
