Notice to Attorneys Handling Felony Indigent Defense Appointments Regarding Outstanding Vouchers for Cases Disposed through December 31, 2025 The Harris County District Courts Trying Criminal Cases have approved the following grace periods to submit any outstanding vouchers for cases disposed through December 31, 2025: • July 15, 2026: for cases disposed through December 31, 2023; • December 30, 2026: for cases disposed from January 1, 2024-December 31, 2024; and • February 15, 2027: for cases disposed from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025 The above-referenced grace period deadlines apply to any work related to client representation for which vouchers must be submitted for payment, including work completed by investigators and experts. Vouchers for the delineated years that are not submitted by 11:59 PM of the noted grace period deadline are subject to rejection. Attorneys handling felony indigent defense matters in the felony courts are advised to review the FDA Standards and Procedures and attendant Fee Schedule to ensure compliance with voucher submission deadlines. Attorneys should also regularly check Justex.net, the official source for court-related information, for any further updates, and keep current the email address affiliated with their FDAMS account.
