HARRIS COUNTY FAMILY DISTRICT COURT INCLEMENT WEATHER NOTICE. To simplify and provide predictability regarding court closures during inclement weather or disasters, the Board of Judge of the Family Division of the Harris County District Courts adopts the following protocol: (1) If the County Judge of Harris County announces that County buildings will be closed, the Family District Courts will remain closed until the County Judge announces the reopening of the building. (2) If the Jury Chair or the Local Administrative District Judge cancels jury service due to inclement weather or unsafe conditions, the Family District Courts will cancel and reset all hearings and trials. An individual Family District Court may opt out of this portion of the protocol by providing the Court Administrator with written notice of the Court's decision. a. If a court decides to proceed with scheduled hearings or trials, it must inform District Court Administration (DCA) that it is opting out. b. The Court Administrator or designee will post court closures and schedules, as well as Courts that have opted out, on www.justex.net. District Court Administration shall post this protocol on www.justex.net. Signed on this 15th of January, 2025. Angela Graves-Harrington, Administrative Judge-Family Division, Harris County Family District Courts. Effective Date 1/15/2025.
