A suit involving the same parties or subject matter as a previously filed suit shall be assigned or transferred to the court where the prior suit was filed. … In cases involving property division or support, each party must serve the disclosures of property and financial information required by Rule 4 within the time the rule prescribes; failure to disclose is subject to sanction under Rule 215 and exclusion under Rule 193.6, Texas Rules of Civil Procedure. … For temporary orders hearings, exhibits must be exchanged by 2:00 p.m. the business day before the hearing; for final trials, exhibits must be exchanged at least ten days before trial. The exchange required by this rule constitutes a discovery request under the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure. … Motions must be in writing and accompanied by a proposed order; notice of a submission setting must be served at least ten days before the submission date, and any response must be on file at least three days before the submission date. … All cases pending and hereafter filed in the Family Trial Division are referred to the associate judge of the court in which the case is pending; this rule constitutes the order of referral under Section 201.006, Texas Family Code. … The parties must mediate before final trial unless the court authorizes otherwise; failure to mediate may result in dismissal or other sanction. … These rules take effect May 1, 2025.
