Administrative Order Requiring Use of Pattern Jury Charges in Criminal Cases (Hays County Courts at Law). IT IS ORDERED: (1) the parties shall use the Texas Criminal Pattern Jury Charges, as published by the State Bar of Texas, as the starting point for drafting the proposed jury charge; (2) counsel may propose modifications, additions or deletions to the pattern charges provided the changes are supported by binding precedent or applicable statutory authority; (3) proposed charges (including any deviation from pattern language) shall be submitted to the Court no later than the morning of the last day of trial unless otherwise ordered; and (4) the Order applies to all criminal cases set for trial on or after its effective date and remains in effect until amended or repealed.
