The 271st Judicial District Court of Wise and Jack Counties, Standing Order Re: Inactivating Tax Suits with Payment Letter for Plaintiff's Attorney (signed July 15, 2025). The court finds that in civil suits where a governmental taxing agency seeks to collect delinquent taxes on real property, the agency and the property owner may enter written agreements to abate or pause the suit and give the owner an opportunity to pay under a payment plan instead of foreclosing. It is therefore ordered that in a delinquent-tax suit in the Jack or Wise County District Court, upon written notification by the attorney representing the taxing entity that the parties have entered a written payment plan, the suit shall be inactivated and shall remain inactive until dismissed by the governmental taxing agency or foreclosure proceedings have resumed.
