In the Parker County Justice of the Peace courts a party may not have ex parte contact with the judge. Prohibited items include phones (off), recording devices without permission, animals, beverages, edibles, gum, weapons (including permit holders), tobacco and hats. A party must be present at the time the Court specifies or a default judgment or a failure-to-appear may be entered against the late party, and a party must provide copies to the Court and to the opposing party of any document intended to be submitted as evidence. Participants rise, wear suitable attire (no shorts or flip flops), and observe the courtroom regulations.
