Standing Order Prohibiting Gun Holsters in the Blackwell-Thurman Criminal Justice Center & in Individual Courtrooms. The Travis County Criminal Judges find that, since Section 46.03(a)(3) of the Texas Penal Code prohibits guns in government courts, wearing gun holsters in the courthouse serves no purpose other than potentially intimidating juries, witnesses or court personnel. The Courts ORDER that the Travis County Sheriff and court personnel enforce a prohibition on wearing gun holsters in the Blackwell-Thurman Criminal Justice Center and in individual courtrooms, as set out in the Order.
