[Letterhead: County of Travis, State of Texas, with an engraving of the county courthouse] STANDING ORDER File Number D-1-GN-61-121012 (LOCAL RULES AND GENERAL ORDERS) Pursuant to the authority vested in me as Local Presiding Judge for the Criminal Courts and with the consent and on behalf of the active judges of the Travis County Criminal Courts, the following finding is made: Good cause exists for the assessment of a lesser personal bond fee for those bonds set below $1350.00. Due to the circumstances appurtenant to residing in Travis County such as: the high and continuously rising cost of living, including the expensive costs of housing and transportation, and, the increasing poverty rate within our jurisdiction, good cause does exist, under the requirements of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, Article 17.42, Sec. 4 (a), to assess the lesser fee of twenty dollars to be applied in all cases with a bail amount set below $1350.00. In all other cases with a bail bond set above $1350.00, the bond fee amount shall be fixed at forty dollars. ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS THE 25th [handwritten] DAY OF May [handwritten], 2016.
