The Order establishes the policy governing handguns in the Blackwell-Thurman Criminal Justice Center, consistent with Section 46.03 of the Texas Penal Code, which prohibits firearms in government courts and offices used by the courts; it sets who may carry a handgun in the CJC (with exceptions for on-duty peace officers and authorized personnel) and directs the Sheriff and court security to enforce the policy in the courthouse.
