Tex. Code Crim. Proc. art. 56B.257 · Subchapter F. PAYMENTS FOR CERTAIN DISABLED PEACE OFFICERS
CALCULATION OF INITIAL PAYMENT.
Text — Current through the 89th 2nd Called Legislative Session, 2025
The attorney general shall calculate the amount of an initial payment based on an injury suffered after September 1, 1989, by:
(1) calculating the amount to which the peace officer is entitled under Article 56B.254; and
(2) adding to that amount the cumulative successive cost-of-living adjustments for the intervening years calculated from the date of the injury.
