Tex. Gov't Code § 54.2202 · Subchapter MM. MAGISTRATES IN COLLIN COUNTY
QUALIFICATIONS; OATH OF OFFICE.
Text — Current through the 89th 2nd Called Legislative Session, 2025
(a) To be eligible for appointment as a magistrate, a person must:
(1) be a citizen of the United States; and
(2) have resided in Collin County for at least the four years preceding the person's appointment.
(b) A magistrate appointed under Section 54.2201 must take the constitutional oath of office required of appointed officers of this state.
