GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND ELECTION.
Text — Current through the 89th 2nd Called Legislative Session, 2025
(a) The district may issue general obligation bonds only if the bonds are authorized by a majority of the district voters voting at an election held in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 1251, Government Code, relating to county bonds.
(b) The commissioners court:
(1) may call the election on its own motion; or
(2) shall call the election at the request of the board.
(c) The cost of the bond election is a charge on the district, and the district must provide for the payment of the bond election costs before the commissioners court is required to order an election.
