DESIGNATION OF PROVIDER.
Text — Current through the 89th 2nd Called Legislative Session, 2025
(a) Notwithstanding Section 54.001, the commission may designate a telecommunications provider under this section to provide voice-grade services to permanent residential or business premises that are not included within the certificated area of a holder of a certificate of convenience and necessity.
(b) The commission may designate a provider only if the provider is otherwise eligible to receive universal service funds under Section 56.023(b).
