Motion to Withdraw

Review Rule 2.505(f): withdrawal takes a motion, notice, and a court order

Substitution by stipulation has its own track; unilateral withdrawal requires the court.

Give the client written notice and confirm their last known address

The motion must state the client's last known address and how the client was notified.

File the motion, set a hearing, and serve the client and all parties

Attend and be ready to address case posture and pending deadlines

Courts often condition withdrawal on protecting imminent deadlines.

Serve the signed order on the client and every party

Make sure the order carries the client's address so future service runs correctly.
