Written withdrawals or revocations of general time waivers in criminal cases may be filed only with the clerk of the court in the courtroom where the matter is scheduled to be heard or with the judicial assistant of the judge presiding in that department (if the judge or department is unknown or absent, with the clerk assigned as judicial assistant to the presiding judge), so that a time waiver is not withdrawn without actual notice to the judge responsible for scheduling trials (Arias v. Superior Court (2008) 167 Cal.App.4th Supp. 1, 4); defendants may still revoke time waivers orally in open court.
