SUPERIOR COURT OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA IN AND FOR THE COUNTY OF TEHAMA In re: PHOTOGRAPHY AND RECORDING IN COURTHOUSE _______________________________________/ STANDING ORDER 2026-13 Unless approved by a written order of a Judge of the Superior Court, no filming, videotaping, photographing, and/or electronic recording is permitted in any area of the courthouse, including, but not limited to, entrances, exits, and hallways. Application for filming, videotaping, photographing, and recording in said areas shall be directed to a Judge of the Superior Court. Filming, videotaping, and photographing the interior of the Courthouse, including the courtrooms, through windows or the glass portions of the courtroom doors is prohibited. No microphones, cameras or recording devices shall be permitted in any courtroom, unless the judge hearing the matter within the courtroom has expressly authorized the same in a written order, pursuant to California Rules of Court, rule 1.150. This rule does not prevent anyone from possessing a cell phone or other mobile device while in the courtroom, but it does prohibit the activation of any microphone and/or camera contained in the device unless it has been approved by a Judge of Superior Court in a written order. A copy of the order approving media coverage must be presented to the Bailiff, stationed at the entrance of the courthouse, prior to any coverage commencing. If such an order is not presented, media coverage may be prohibited. Violations of this standing order may be enforced by the sheriff’s office (see, e.g., Code Civ. Proc., § 1209(a)5) and Pen. Reviewer note: Composed 2026-10-12 (California T4 Tehama build 2026-10-12) from BenchPath custody ca/t4/ca-tehama/docs/general/standing-order-2026-13-photography-and-recording-courthouse.pdf (105920 bytes, sha256 bd1c12293a89997f4774db63ca4e9ab36199d40919fa230da1463a2d1c8375c5; 1 page; a printed text layer) with the shared verbatim composer (v2 reflow): one page; its running footer “Standing Order re: Photography and Recording in Courthouse” removed as chrome (1 line); the pleading caption - the box “In re:” and the order's title, closed by an underscore rule, at the left; “STANDING ORDER” and the order's number at the right - which the line-by-line reading interleaves, set left cell then right cell by one caption fix (build/doc-captions.json: the same characters, each printed line on its own line) (its title printed on two lines); the Presiding Judge's handwritten signature, an image, is not part of the text; proof 1 (whitespace-only) and proof 2 (same character multiset as the text layer minus chrome) pass. Review note: Rule 4, carded in Section 1, permits filming, videotaping, photographing and recording in the courthouse's other areas only when “approved by the Presiding Judge” and directs applications “to the Presiding Judge or his/her designee”, while this order requires “a written order of a Judge of the Superior Court” and directs applications “to a Judge of the Superior Court” (a review task).
