Verbatim from the operative section of https://www.jud12.flcourts.org/Portals/0/AdminOrders/Section04/03-7-4.pdf, harvested 2026-08-02; whitespace normalised only. • The Major Trial Division, Division T, shall be discontinued effective December 31, 2003. • Circuit trial judges will discontinue, effective immediately, the transfer of cases to the Major Trial Division. Circuit Civil judges shall identify, at their earliest opportunity, any case which they believe will take six days or longer for trial (including cases which may hereafter be transferred back to them by the Major Trial Division judge) and shall set those cases for trial during Major Trial Weeks. Circuit Civil judges shall notify the chief judge and court administrator of the style and case number for any case set for trial during a Major Trial Week which the presiding Circuit Civil judge believes will require six or more days for trial. • Circuit Civil judges shall be responsible for all pretrial matters appertaining to cases assigned to them, including cases set for trial during Major Trial Weeks. • Cases which the Trial Division judge determines he cannot get to trial during calendar 2003 shall be immediately transferred back to the Circuit Court division from which the case was originally transferred. • The judges assigned to the Circuit Civil Division shall schedule a minimum of two three-week trial periods in both Manatee and Sarasota Counties for calendar 2004 and each succeeding year. These three-week trial periods shall be designated Major Trial Periods. • The administrative judge for South Sarasota County shall schedule a minimum of one three-week trial period for South Sarasota County for calendar 2004 and each succeeding year.
