Verbatim from the operative section of https://www.jud12.flcourts.org/Portals/0/AdminOrders/Section03/04-27.3.pdf, harvested 2026-08-02; whitespace normalised only. • At the earliest opportunity afforded, a Circuit Judge shall identify any noncriminal case expected to take six days or longer for trial and set the case for trial during the major trial period. • The Circuit Judge shall then provide written notice of the order setting the case for trial to the Chief Judge, the Administrative Judge for the Civil Division, and the Court Administrator. • Each year, the Administrative Judge for the Civil Division shall schedule a minimum of two, three-week trial periods in Manatee and Sarasota Counties. The 1 Administrative Judge shall provide appropriate notice of the scheduled major trial periods to the appropriate divisions. These special trial periods shall be designated major trial periods. • Circuit Civil judges shall rotate the responsibility for maintaining the major trial period calendar for both divisions within each county in alternating major trial periods. The responsible division will coordinate with the Court Administrator to determine appropriate coverage and courtroom availability. ORDERED at Sarasota, Florida this 9th day of September 2004.
