Verbatim from Fourth Circuit administrative order 1991-08 as published by the Duval County Clerk, harvested 2026-07-26; whitespace normalised only. • RESOLVED that the Procedures of the Fourth Judicial Circuit in ' » all courts of Duval County in which jury trials are held shall be amended to include this additional procedure adopting the following ° plan for the selection of persons for grand jury or petit jury service: ` ‘ • COMPILATION OF JURY LISTS: ` . . _ V| (a) In Duval County, whenever in the opinion of the · chief Judge of the Fourth Judicial circuit of Florida it is ° advisable to do eo, the Chief Judge shall in writing direct the • Q jurors as may be specified in that direction, to report for service ` as jurors at the time and place stated in that direction. ` (b) Upon receiving that direction, the Clerk shall cause a computer, data processing equipment, or other mechanical, electronic or electrical device to select at randomlthe specified number of jurors from the male and female persons at least 18 years _of age who are citizens of this state and who are registered _ electors of Duval County as shown on the data processing equipment . records of the Supervisor of Elections of DUVAL COUNTY; to print, address and prepare for mailing a summons to each-juror so selected I y instructing that juror to report at the time and place stated for v_ service as a juror; and to print for use by the Clerk a list of the names and addresses of all jurors so summoned. • No registered __ elector shall be omitted from being summoned as a juror. ‘ (c) The Clerk shall mail jury summons by first class • Chief Judge, and the list of the names and addresses of the jurors _ so summoned, for one year, and shall then destroy them. ‘ • I _ ` error of commission or omission in the selection of or serving of any grand or petit juror, shall not affect the legality of the organization of the jury, and no indictment ofl a grand jury or I • A| verdict of a petit jury shall be subject to challenge because of I any such error, so long as each juror was a registered elector of the county at the time that juror’s name was selected. • The Chief Judge of the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Florida __| shall supervise the use of this procedure, and in all respects the " 3 - . • Clerk utilizing this procedure shall do so ln accordance with the n" directions of the chief Judge. |.` 7.
