Verbatim from the order as served by the Duval Clerk's own application (https://www.duvalclerk.gov/adminOrders/?ao=1997-04&filed=01%2F29%2F1997&h=d9b51738757acf12), captured 2026-08-04; each bullet is quoted whole from the document, whitespace normalised only. • IN RE: COURT APPROVED DRIVER IMPROVEMENT COURSES WHEREAS, the National Safety Council has recently been approved by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles;(the Department) in accordance with Florida Statute § 318.1451, to provide pilot programs for two new driver training courses, WHEREAS, one of these courses is the DDC-Alive at 25 course, designed for drivers in the 16-24 age group to improve their judgment and driving decisions, to promote adoption of safer driving practicies, and to foster responsible and controlled driving behavior in order to protect against loss of life and human suffering. The long term goal of this course is to reduce the number of violations, collisions, injuries and fatalities. • NOW THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as Chief Judge and pursuant to the Florida Rules of Judicial Administration, together with the Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles Rule l5A-8.006(5), Florida Rule of Traiiic Court 6. l l0(a), and Florida Statute §3 l 8.145 l , requiring tl1e Chief Judge's approval of the course, school and location respectively, it is ORDERED: (l) The National Safety Council's Chapter, Northeast Florida Safety Council, is hereby approved by this Court to perform the pilot programs in this Circuit for the two new driver training comses, to-wit: the DDC—Alive at 25 course and the Attitudinal Dynamics afDriving Course MDD- 12) course, within the Fourth Circuit at the location(s) designated by by the Chapter. • Buck 8533 Pg 2092 (3) The DDC-Alive at 25 course shall be the course of preference in this Circuit for the designated age group. The Northeast Florida Safety Council may endeavor to enroll in the DDC- Alive at 25 course those persons who are within the specified age group on first appearance. • (4) The ADD -12 course may be required either by the Department for those traffic offenders who have had their license suspended or revoked, or by Court Order as deemed appropriate by the County Court judge. • (5) This Order shall be in effect immediately and remain in effect until further Order of the Court, and all terms and conditions set forth in this Administrative Order shall apply unless otherwise ordered by the Court.
(2) The DDC-Alive at 25 course is an elective course, which may be selected by the traffic offender in lieu of a court appearance.
