Verbatim from Fourth Circuit administrative order 2018-11 as published by the Duval County Clerk, harvested 2026-07-25; whitespace normalised only. • WHEREAS, within the Duval County Courthouse, a danger to existing security measures occurs when recording by electronic devices captures security features that are in place throughout the Courthouse, sensitive witnesses such as undercover police officers and protected witnesses who are required to appear in court, and jurors or potential jurors who are required to appear in the Courthouse; . • WHEREAS, electronic recording inside any courtroom or hearing room shall continue to be permitted at the discretion of the presiding judge and shall continue to. be governed by Rules • Court, and all applicable Administrative Orders that are currently in etfect and nothing herein shall be construed to affect those practices; -- 1 of 5 -- • Electronic recording shall include taking photographs, filming, videotaping, audiotaping, broadcasting, and telecasting. 3) Other uses of electronic devices shall continue to be governed by Rules 2.450 and • Order and that person fails to comply with a request to cease recording, that person shall be escorted out of the Duval County Courthouse and not permitted to return until such time as that person is no longer in possession of any electronic andlor recording devices. • If a person is escorted out of the Duval County Courthouse pursuant to this order, that action shall not excuse the person from failing to appear in court as required. 5) This order shall in no way abrogate or amend Administrative Order 2015-1, • Administrative Order 2013-08, Second Amended Administrative Order 92-02, or abrogate or amend Rule 2.451, Florida Rules of Judicial Administration. 6) This Administrative Order shall be recorded by the Clerk of Court, in the Ofiicial • Records of Duval County, in the State of Florida, and shall take effect immediately and remain in full force and efi'ect unless and until otherwise ordered by the Court. -- 2 of 5 -- • Please submit an original copy of this form no later than 10 business days before the date on which you would like to record to:
