Verbatim from https://www.circuit5.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/l-2025-48-b.pdf, harvested 2026-07-25; whitespace normalised only. • All jurors reporting for duty in Lake County shall be pooled and subsequently randomly selected and directed to a particular court for jury selection purposes. • This shall not apply to capital cases for which there shall be a separate and individual venire and the judge presiding in such case shall have sole authority to examine, qualify, and excuse jurors. • At least three weeks prior to any scheduled trial date, the circuit and county court judges shall notify the jury clerk in writing of the number and type of all trials scheduled. • Upon receipt of notification of trial, the jury clerk shall cause to be summoned a sufficient number of jurors to be examined and serve thereon. • A circuit or county judge shall serve as “duty-judge” for each calendar month. • The duty-judge shall be responsible for considering and approving requests for excusais from jury duty and for qualifying the jury pool at the beginning of each trial period. • The rotation order for service as duty-judge for the calendar year 2026 shall be as designated on the attached exhibit.
