Verbatim from https://ninthcircuit.org/sites/default/files/07-97-54-04%20Amended%20Order%20Governing%20Jury%20Management.pdf, harvested 2026-07-25; whitespace normalised only. • Jury staff may postpone jury service to a date no later than six months after the original jury report date, one time per prospective juror upon request. • All other requests for exemption, additional postponement, or excuse, including requests for excuse because of limited English proficiency, must be submitted to the Chief Judge or designated Jury Judge for determination. • All requests for more than 2 or 3 additional jurors, depending on the chart, must be approved by the Jury Judge or Chief Judge. • Requests for jury panels must be made using the Jury Panel Request Form located on the Court’s Intranet and must be submitted to the jury room staff by 3:30 p.m. on the business day before the panel is requested. • If an additional judge is assisting your division, a separate form must be submitted for each judge. • If voir dire does not begin within thirty (30) minutes after the jury panel arrives at the courtroom, the panel must be immediately returned to the jury room. • Judges must call the jury room to cancel a prior request for jurors as soon as it is determined there is no need for a jury panel. • Plus 2 for extraordinary circumstances. * These deviations from the guidelines must be approved by the presiding judge.
