Bell County Standing Order Regarding the Confidentiality of CPS Court Records. IT IS ORDERED that the court files in which the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services is the Petitioner are not subject to public disclosure; the contents of these files shall not be released to anyone but the parties to the lawsuit, their attorneys, and those specifically authorized by court order. These files contain the files, reports, records, audiotapes, videotapes, and working papers used or developed in investigations conducted under Chapter 261 of the Texas Family Code; as such, Texas Family Code section 261.201 provides that the information is confidential and not subject to public release under Chapter 552 of the Government Code. Approved and adopted January 24, 2017 (Gordon Adams, 169th District Court, Presiding Judge, Bell County; Jack Jones, 146th District Court; and Charles Van Orden, Associate Judge, Centex Child Protection Court).
