In the District Courts and the County Court at Law of Coryell County — Administrative Order, Standing Order Regarding Filing and Assignment of Civil Cases in Coryell County. This administrative standing order applies in all civil cases filed with the District and County Clerk of Coryell County; the 52nd Judicial District Court, the 440th Judicial District Court and the Coryell County Court at Law approve it. IT IS ORDERED: civil cases within the exclusive jurisdiction of the District Courts are presented for filing to the District Clerk; civil cases within the exclusive jurisdiction of the County Court at Law (all probate, mental illness, appeals from justice and municipal courts, and condemnation cases where title is not in question) are presented to the County Clerk; and civil cases within the concurrent civil jurisdiction (amount in controversy over $500 and not exceeding $200,000 excluding interest, statutory/punitive damages, penalties, attorney's fees and costs, and all family-law matters) are presented to the District Clerk. Assignment: (1) cases within the exclusive district jurisdiction are randomly and equally distributed among the District Courts, except all tax cases are filed in the 52nd District Court, all inmate litigation and Civil Practice & Remedies Code Chapter 14 cases are assigned to the 440th District Court, and civil matters related to a criminal cause follow the pending criminal cause; (2) concurrent-jurisdiction cases are randomly distributed among the District Courts and the County Court at Law, except all juvenile cases go to the County Court at Law, all DFPS cases are filed in the 52nd District Court, and all Title IV-D (OAG child support) cases are filed in the 440th District Court; (3) if a party dismisses or non-suits a case and refiles within one year, it is reassigned to the court where it was pending at dismissal.
