Revised 7/24/23 240th Procedures on Affidavits of Surety to Surrender The 240th District Court will require an appearance from a representative of the bonding company that has filed an Affidavit of Surety to Surrender on a defendant. If you are requesting the court to make a ruling on your affidavit, please appear at the defendant’s court settings. If there is not an appearance from a representative of the bonding company, the affidavit will not be considered. If the defendant is currently in custody in another county and has no pending court dates, then you will need to provide proof of where they are in custody and attach it to your affidavit.
