A record of civil court proceedings may be made by electronic tape recording without a stenographic court reporter. The court recorder shall: ensure the recording system is functioning and certify its operation; make a detailed, indexed log of the proceedings identifying each speaker and event; file the log with the clerk and attach exhibit lists; safeguard and store the recordings; prohibit access to the recordings except upon written court order; and provide certified copies upon request and payment. Appeals from proceedings recorded electronically are governed by the rules applicable to such records. Adopted for the courts of Fort Bend County; filed August 23, 2024 (county and district registrations).
