IN RE ALL TAX SUITS { IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF { ASSIGNED TO THE 240TH { FORT BEND COUNTY, TEXAS { JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT { 240TH DISTRICT COURT STANDING ORDER IN TAX SUITS BE IT REMEMBERED that, pursuant to provisions of Texas Government Code Chapter 54A, Subchapter B, Section 54A.106 et seq., and subject to the limitations contained in such subchapter, it is hereby ORDERED that Associate Judge Derek Obialo is designated to conduct any and all proceedings in all tax suits, including, but not limited to, proceedings on all claims filed pursuant to the provisions of Article 8 of the Constitution of the State of Texas, all claims filed pursuant to the provisions of Title 1, Title 2 or Title 3 of the Texas Property Tax Code, all claims for ad valorem taxes, and all counterclaims filed therein, issuance of writs of attachment, ordering dissolution of attachment, issuance of writs of garnishment, ordering dissolution of garnishment, ordering appointment of a receiver and entering orders on property subject to receivership, issuance of writs of sequestration, ordering dissolution or modification of sequestration, ordering turnover of property to a designated sheriff, constable or receiver; issuance of temporary restraining orders, with or without notice, fixing the amount of security required of applicants seeking temporary restraining orders, granting writs of injunction, ruling on stays of execution of judgment, ruling on objections to venue and jurisdiction, rendering default judgments, ruling on special appearances, ruling on discovery, including requests for disclosure, interrogatories, requests for admissions, requests for production of documents, and oral and written depositions, and other special discovery requests permitted by law, ordering of sanctions, consideration and entry of summary judgment, ordering Guardian Ad Litem appointments, ordering substitution or withdrawal by attorneys, ordering reinstatement of suit after dismissal for want of prosecution, making findings of fact and conclusions of law as required, hearing motions for new trial, ruling on petitions for bill of review, and awarding attorney's fees. This Order specifically refers all matters in tax suits assigned to the 240th District Court to said Associate Judge for all proceedings and for the entry of orders or judgment by said Associate Judge. It is further ORDERED that the District Clerk is directed to file and enter this Order. IT IS SO ORDERED.
