Record of the standing orders of the Fort Bend County Justice of the Peace Courts (Rev. 2025.2, signed March 21, 2025). Standing Order 1 — compliance dismissals with a dismissal fee: expired driver's license, expired registration, expired inspection [repealed class], failure to establish financial responsibility (with current proof), expired license plates, driver's license not on person, two-license violation, failure to report address change, and eyewear-restriction classes, upon timely proof of compliance and payment of the statutory fee ($10 or $20 by class). Standing Order 2 — no-fee compliance dismissals: financial-responsibility dismissals with proof the vehicle was insured at the time of the offense, no-driver's-license dismissals with proof of a license valid at the time of offense, and disabled-parking dismissals under Transp. Code § 681.013. Standing Order 3 — deferred disposition: available by clerk-window processing for eligible offense classes with the required declaration and costs ($240-$350 by class); excluded: CDL holders, accident-related offenses, and speeding 30+ mph over the limit (except by judge approval); all other deferral requests are set for a pretrial conference. Standing Order 4 — driving safety course: required for moving violations by drivers under 25.
