The justice courts’ policy for serving a citation on a defendant located outside the county or state through the appropriate county constable. The plaintiff must supply the county for service, the serving constable’s identity and full address, and the constable’s service fee — provided to the court as a money order or cashier’s check made payable to that constable — whereupon the court mails the payment and citation to the constable for service.
Texas > Grimes County > Justice Courts — out-of-county/out-of-state service.
Plaintiff must provide: (1) name of county for service; (2) the appropriate county constable serving the citation; (3) that constable’s full address; (4) the constable’s service fee; and (5) the fee to the court by money order or cashier’s check made out to the appropriate constable. The court then mails the payment and citation to the constable for service.
