Recording and broadcasting of court proceedings in the District Courts of Harris County, Civil Trial Division, is governed by these rules, approved by the Supreme Court of Texas pursuant to Rule 18c(a) of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure (effective 1991; amended January 3, 1996 and March 6, 2007). … Recording or broadcasting of proceedings in chambers, closed proceedings, jury selection, jury deliberations, and conferences between attorneys and clients is prohibited unless waived in writing. … A request for permission to record or broadcast a court proceeding must be submitted in writing to the presiding judge. … Not more than one television camera, one still photographer, and one audio system for radio broadcast are permitted at one time; media pooling arrangements are the responsibility of the media. … Recording and broadcasting must not distract from or delay the proceedings, and recordings made under these rules are not part of the official record.
