The shared standing order of the 21st and 335th District Courts of Burleson, Lee and Washington Counties on cell phones and electronic recording devices, as registered for Lee County: individuals may bring cell phones into a courtroom (subject to a security demonstration) but photographing, recording, broadcasting, or televising any person, object, or proceeding inside the courtroom during a hearing/trial is prohibited unless the court authorizes it (see Local Rule 1.18); violators may be removed and have the device temporarily forfeited; phones must be turned off inside any courtroom and used only reasonably/non-disruptively outside; each court may modify or waive the order case-by-case; and the order does not apply to attorneys and their staff.

"this Order is a standing Order of the 21ST Judicial District and 335TH Judicial District Courts of Burleson, Lee and Washington County, Texas and applies to all hearings and trials in Burleson, Lee and Washington County, Texas district courts... Individuals may bring cell phones into any courtroom in which a District Court is conducting any hearing and/or trial. For security reasons, however, individuals may be asked to demonstrate his or her cellular telephone to a Court Security Officer, bailiff or other law enforcement officer that the device works as intended. The photographing, recording, broadcasting or televising of any person, object [or] proceeding inside the courtroom in which a District Court is conducting any hearing and/or trial is not permitted, unless authorized by the court [See Rule No. 1.18 of the Local Rules for District Courts]... Any individual who violates this Order may be subject to being removed from the courtroom and having his or her electronic device temporarily forfeited... Cellular telephones must be turned off while inside any courtroom. Cellular telephones may be used outside of the courtrooms provided that they are used in a reasonable and non-disruptive manner. Each District Court reserves the right to modify or waive this Order on a case-by-case basis. This Standing Order is not applicable to attorneys and their staff. IT IS SO ORDERED."
