Rules of the 414th District Court (Judge Ryan A. Luna, Waco), in addition to the Local Rules for the District Courts in McLennan County. (1) The court calls the docket at 9:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. each day except Monday mornings when juries are being impaneled, and attorneys and clients are expected to be present and on time. (2) Hearings can be scheduled at specific times if necessary after discussing specifics with the Court Administrator for a special setting; the court generally does not send hearing notices, so upon setting a matter a party must serve notice on all other parties in written or verifiable form within one business day of receipt of the setting. (3) Subject to Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 21d, the court encourages Zoom hearings for uncontested matters or those requiring only argument without evidence, and may consider Zoom where an attorney, party or potential witness resides more than 50 miles from Waco; the device used must reflect the participant's given name; the Zoom ID for the 414th is 733-427-1433. (4) The court allows telephone hearings in limited circumstances after the attorneys confirm with the administrator, with the requesting attorney responsible for initiating any conference call.
