"The District Court Judges Giving Preference to Criminal Cases, the Criminal District Court Judges, and the Statutory County Criminal Court Judges of Tarrant County who have signed this Standing Order hereby ORDER that in all pending cases, the attorneys representing the state are authorized to release the following records to defense counsel without the need for a motion to release: (1) medical records, (2) grand-jury records, (3) Texas Department of Family and Protective Services records, (4) criminal-history information, and (4) juvenile records. The undersigned courts GRANT the attorneys representing the state permission to withhold releasing evidence in the above categories if the attorneys representing the state file a successful motion for such relief. The undersigned courts further ORDER that in all pending cases, defense counsel: (1) shall maintain control of all records released under this order; (2) shall not reproduce or otherwise release the records to any other person or entity, including the defendant or the defendant’s family, unless otherwise authorized by a court order; and (3) shall return or destroy the disclosed records once the case is finally disposed of, which includes any postconviction proceedings.
