C-1-CR-11-100054 GENERAL ORDER in re: Defendants Reported Deceased after Sentence § IN THE COUNTY COURT[S] AT LAW [partly under the file stamp], TRAVIS COUNTY, TEXAS [File stamp: FILED FOR RECORD, 2018 SEP 19 AM 8:36, DANA DEBEAUVOIR, COUNTY CLERK, TRAVIS COUNTY, TEXAS] ORDER The Court, sua sponte, has determined that, in those instances where a defendant is reported deceased by notice of their driving record from DPS, and where that defendant has an outstanding warrant after sentence, the notice of reported deceased from DPS is sufficient proof to determine death. The interest of justice demands that the said misdemeanor Capias or Motion to Revoke Warrant be recalled and any outstanding balances of fines and/or costs related thereto should be waived and the disposition recorded as satisfied. IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that upon notification that defendant is reported deceased, the County Clerk shall recall the outstanding misdemeanor Capias or Motion to Revoke warrant, waive the outstanding balances of fine and/or costs related thereto, and close the case as referenced in the aforementioned paragraph. Standing order of the 109th Judicial District Court for every pending or later-filed case in Andrews, Winkler and Crane Counties: any attorney or self-represented litigant who uses any form of artificial intelligence for legal research or drafting in a case must, before using AI-generated information in a court submission or proceeding, sign and submit the court's certification form stating that all language, quotations, sources, citations, arguments and legal analysis created or contributed to by generative AI were verified as accurate by a human through traditional (non-AI) legal sources, and acknowledging responsibility and potential sanctions for their or their co-counsel's failure to comply. Effective immediately; in effect until rescinded or replaced.
