Travis County Courts at Law General Order Regarding Defendants Sentenced with Only Money Due. The Court, sua sponte, has determined that in instances where a defendant has been sentenced to regular jail time and/or SWAP on a misdemeanor charge, all jail time has been satisfied, and only fines and/or costs remain due — where the defendant would previously have been allowed to spend time in custody to satisfy the fines and costs — the Order sets how those remaining monetary obligations are handled so that the defendant is not further detained solely for inability to pay, as set out in the Order.
