If the last day to perform an act provided or required by law is a holiday, the period extends to and includes the next day that is not a holiday. For this purpose 'holiday' means all day on Saturdays, the holidays specified in section 135 and, to the extent section 12b provides, the days that section requires to be treated as holidays. The rule applies to every provision of law that requires an act on a particular day or within a specified period.
