Starting July 1, 2025, parties may receive notices by email instead of regular mail in most Civil cases (Appeals, Family Law and Child Support, General Civil, Probate and Landlord-Tenant cases); for a party with an attorney, the court is mandated to send case documents to the email address the attorney identifies, with paper service until an email address is on file; a party without an attorney consents on Judicial Council form EFS-005 (Consent to Electronic Service and Notice of Electronic Service Address), gives notice of a changed address on form EFS-010 and withdraws consent on form EFS-006; the change affects how documents are received from the court, not how documents are filed.
