Before filing a Motion for Continuance, you must first contact the opposing party to see if they have any objection to a continuance. The Motion for Continuance must indicate whether the motion is opposed or unopposed by the other party or parties to the case. If the continuance is agreed to by all parties, you may submit a proposed Agreed Order electronically through the E-Orders system and the Court will review the court file and take one of the following actions: grant the continuance, grant the continuance with modifications to the proposed order, or reject the proposed order and require the parties to set the matter for a hearing. If the continuance is opposed, you must set a hearing on the motion.
