Verbatim from https://www.ca.cjis20.org/pdf/ao/ao_2_22.pdf, harvested 2026-07-25; whitespace normalised only. • All Jimmy Ryce cases shall be ass igned randomly to a judge of the civil division upon filing. • Upon the filing by the State Attorney of a Petition for Commitment of any individual pursuant to the Jimmy Ryce Act, the State Attorney shall present to the assigned judge, or in his or her absence, to the Duty Judge on call at the time, an ex parte motion and order for probable cause determination. • The petition, motions and orders shall be presented to the assigned judge, or in his or her absence, to the Duty Judge on call, for his or her review. • The trial order must set a trial date within t11£;ty (30) ~ _, § days of presentation of the file to the Court as provided by Florida Statute§ 394.916 0• ("") ' -4 • All other procedures under the Act shall be as provided in the statutes cited above and any case law interpreting the statutory provisions applicable to these proceedings.
