Verbatim from Fourth Circuit administrative order 2004-12 as published by the Duval County Clerk, harvested 2026-07-26; whitespace normalised only. • The Court Administrator shall contract with the Special Magistrate and prescribe the methods and procedures by which the Special Magistrate is compensated. • The Special Magistrate shall serve at the pleasure ofthe ChiefJudge and shall be compensated by the Fourth Judicial Circuit. • Under no circumstances shall the Special Magistrate be compensated for a session of court which is concurrent with or overlaps time spent on other quasi-judicial functions performed by the same • The Special Magistrate shall not have the authority to hold any person in contempt, nor to sentence any person to incarceration. • Any person cited for a civil infraction of any ordinance or code shall be informed, prior to -- 1 of 2 -- • The Special Magistrate shall be an active member in good standing of The Florida Bar. • This Administrative Order shall be recorded in the Official Records of Duval County in the State of Florida, and certified copies of the same shall be furnished by the Clerks of the Circuit
